The Sacrament of Baptism
Baptism is for everyone, young and old. Jesus did not set any age-limit. He simply commanded us to baptize “all nations”. In the Lutheran Church we baptize not only adults, but also infants believing that the Holy Spirit creates the miracle of faith even in infants. As the children grow, we teach them what it means to be baptized in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, so they can appreciate the blessings of Baptism. This teaching should extend throughout their lives, so they never lose the benefits or blessings of Baptism, and instead draw on them all of their lives.
